There was a total of 7 people, including the bartender, in the Downbeat lounge for this comeback performance of Waipahu Bob, and most of them weren't paying me much attention. What's wrong with these people. I was dropping comedy gems up there!

2019-09 East Coast Swing
In the month of September, on the night of Friday the 13th, there was a full harvest moon in the sky above Cheshire, Connecticut. Coincidentally, or not, also afoot in Cheshire that evening was a favored son of yesteryear not seen in these parts for the better part of three decades. That’s right, Waipahu Bob … Continue reading 2019-09 East Coast Swing

Stand-Up Comedy – Open Mic at the Downbeat Lounge – 16 July 2019
I wanted to try my hand at stand-up comedy this year. I set an initial goal to come up with a new 5-minute set every week for 10 weeks. It was expected the jury would take several days to consider this complex case, but they took less than 24 hours (9 hours deliberation over two days). Civil Beat, an … Continue reading The Case of the Stolen Mailbox

On Thursday, 20 June 2019, I sat in the observer section of the Aha Kaulike room, a court room on the fourth floor of the Federal Building in Honolulu, which houses the United States District Court, District of Hawaii. It was the last day of evidence to be presented in the infamous case of the … Continue reading The Case of the Stolen Mailbox
Car to Kailua (2019-06-03)
That’s right, I drove my car. After checking the bus schedule, it would have taken three hours to get to Kailua by bus, and the same to get home. I decided to drive for 30 minutes instead. I pushed out at 0730. H1 town-bound was thick with wheeled steel heading to work, but traffic was … Continue reading Car to Kailua (2019-06-03)
Maui Day Trip (2019-04-29)
I was intoxicated by the cheap Southwest introductory fares -- $45 ($72 after taxes) roundtrip to Maui. I figured I’d catch an early flight, spend the day on Maui, then catch the last flight back to Oahu. Hey, they’ve got busses on Maui, too. I could expand my bus travels to a new island. This … Continue reading Maui Day Trip (2019-04-29)
