“You have no cards” Trump told Zelensky two months ago
In the Oval Office, denigrating the embattled war-time leader
Trump sided with Russia that day, for all the world to see
America no longer the land of the free
Or the home of the brave
In Trump’s realpolitik new wave
Where all that matters is Trump
And the power and money he craves
But on June 1st, in broad daylight, Ukraine showed freedom’s way
Not to go quietly when a dictator says cave
And tries to lead you to a fresh-dug peace grave
No, Ukraine is the new land of the brave
Ukraine shook Russia’s vaunted military might
Eliminated a reported 40 strategic aircraft (half confirmed via satellite, rest TBD, soon)
Up to a third of their strategic bombers, which in addition to their nuclear mission, have been firing conventional missiles into civilian targets in Ukraine since the beginning of the war
Plus, critical refuelers and C2 platforms
Eighteen months in planning
Trojan Horse wooden crates housed over 100 FPV drones
Smuggled into Russia and deployed on Russian trucks
Deployed near five strategic bases, up to 4,000 km from front lines
Employed remotely in synchronicity
Resulting in catastrophic damage to the Russian war machine
And the Russian psyche
Russia’s Special Military Operation does indeed have Russian consequences
And not just the price of potatoes
Yes, this is war
As Trump-directed peace talks start today in Turkey
And the Russians again present their maximal demands for capitulation/submission of Ukraine
There is a new truth that must be considered
For all the world to see
Trump is a poor judge of the case
If this truly is a card game
Ukraine just threw down an ace
