Nipple-top Ridge, that’s what I’d call it
It looks that way to me
Hard-pointed nipple, upward to the sky
On her back, not perky-free
I’m sitting by myself
On my sister’s cabin porch
Low sun, clear sky, pretty cold
Sunset drinkin’
Solo in my thinkin’
Good view, good vibes, never old
It’s good to see this mountain scene
Western North Carolina mighty fine
Still hurricane damage, but folks here managed
To get lots of things back in order
I ain’t a mountain man
But spent some younger days
Hiking, fishing, climbing rocks
Trying to find my way
Been on the flatlands for quite a few years
A lifetime of working to beat the clock
Slowing down now, another look around
Heard the mountains calling tick, tick, tock
They say variety is the spice of life
Seems right from what I’ve seen
Get stuck in a rut for too much time
You gotta stretch to find a new scene
The older you get, more comfy in your ways
These knees ain’t rock climbin’ no more
But sittin’ on the porch of this fine mountain cabin
I still glory in the mountain sunset glow
