My Dog Daisy

                                                                            Daisy and Prince

My dog Daisy was a little girl

A nine-pound Pomeranian

My dog Daisy was a friendly girl

Happy to meet everybody

My dog daisy was a popular girl

She used to sit out on the rock wall by the driveway

Where neighborhood kids could pet her as they walked by

Daisy liked that, she was a socializer

Our other dog, Prince

Stays at the top of the driveway and barks at people

Oh well, we’ve all got our own personalities

Daisy knew if somebody was sick or didn’t feel well

She would nestle close to them, comfort them

My dog Daisy was a peacemaker

She didn’t like dogs, cats, or people fighting

Daisy was a good guard dog

She patrolled our house and slept near the front door

No intruders could escape her

And she had a big bark for a little dog

Coming home to Daisy

Always brought me joy

No matter what the work week

I couldn’t stay annoyed

That little bear was full of fun

And made me have fun too

Playing with that baby girl

How can you stay blue

My dog Daisy died today

This morning in her sleep

A golden beam of sunlight

In my heart I’ll ever keep
