Another opportunity to start anew
Each new year comes with hope
Not sure where we’re heading to
But onward with the grope
I usually train my New Year thoughts
On ways to self-improve
You know, read more books, drop some weight
Get my workouts in a groove
But this year’s kind of different
Got a special New Year’s wish
Involving this country I proudly served
And traitors in our midst
Jan 6 must be reckoned for
It was no tourist stroll
It was a violent attack on the Capital
To subvert the will of the voters
Starting with the king of lies
The Mar a Lago lump
The man trying to destroy democracy
The loser Donald Trump
One year out from his foiled coup attempt
Trump plans a news conference on Jan 6
If you think he’ll try to soothe the nation
Then about Don you don’t know dick
That coifed asshole will spew more lies
And claim his victimhood
They stole the election from me, he’ll cry
If only Mike Pence understood
And the Freedom Caucus in Congress
Insurrection central, following the loss
A motley group of imbeciles
Won’t admit Trump fairly lost
Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley did their part
And don’t forget Lindsey Graham
Shakin’ down Georgia election officials
All part of Trump’s big scam
And how about those crooked lawyers
Frivolous lawsuits by the ton
Sidney Powell, Lin Wood, Jenna Ellis
Hey Rudy G, are we still having fun?
But people have concerns, they say
Election integrity is in doubt
That’s right assholes, it’s because of you
And all the truth you flout
Subpoena all these rats, including Trump
They say they have nothing to hide
OK then, testify under oath
And let the world decide
I swore an oath to defend the constitution
And so did most of these
From what I know, these turncoats now
Should be swinging from the trees
It’s treason folks
Don’t sugarcoat
And justice must have sway
Foot soldiers are going to jail
The leaders, too, must pay
