Symphony of (MAGA) Destruction

You take a mortal man

And make him president

Watch him become a god

Watch people’s heads a-roll

A-roll, A-roll

Just like the Pied Piper

Led rats through the streets

MAGA fools dance like marionettes

Swaying to the Symphony of Destruction

Anti-democratic robots

Their metal brains corrode

You try to ease their fever

Before their heads explode

Explode, Explode

Just like the Pied Piper

Led rats through the streets

MAGA marionettes dancing

Swaying to the Symphony

The earth now is rumbling

World powers may fall

In the war for democracy

Real patriots must stand tall

Stand tall

Just like the Pied Piper

Led rats through the streets

MAGA monster marionettes

Sway to the Symphony

Of the Donald

Yes, still the Donald

Champion of white-fright fools

The king of bamboozle

Riding his MAGA mules

Just like the Pied Piper

Led rats through the streets

MAGA monster marionettes

Still swaying to the Symphony

Swaying to the Symphony of Destruction

Above poem modified from Megadeth’s song Symphony of Destruction, written by Dave Mustaine

Countdown to Extinction is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Megadeth, released on July 14, 1992. It includes the song Symphony of Destruction, written by band member Dave Mustaine.

As Dave Mustaine points out in the song, the problem is not just the leaders, but also the people who blindly follow them. These politicians, once they gain power, lead a “symphony of destruction” that the people follow, often to their own detriment.

Dave Mustaine says that inspiration for this song came when he was watching the movie The Manchurian Candidate.

The song came quickly to Mustaine, who says he was driving home when inspiration struck. He quickly wrote the chorus in the car and finished the song when he arrived home.
