The bumper sticker said
On the back of a Toyota Tercel
Now sticking in my head
That car bumper is talkin’ good sense
Let’s all slow down and be less tense
Never know when something interesting awaits
Allow eyes and mind to unlock the gates
See the little things
And larger things get clear
If you see the shoe missing nails
Then for the horse you’ll fear
And joy is in the little things
As we slog our way through life
Take the time for still and quiet
I learned this from my wife
So if you see me on the H-1 West, in the slow lane, taking time
Feel free to speed on by
You’ve got your reasons
I’ve got my rhyme
And I might see a cloud
And I might tap the brakes
I’m a simple man
Nature provides a good-looking cloud
I just might partake
I hope I see that Tercel again
Got to admit, I like dude’s style
I know he ain’t spending money on cars
They ain’t produced Tercels in quite a while
Even smaller than the Corolla
That Tercel’s a frugal bird
And check this out my linguist friends
“Tercel” in Latin means one-third
Enjoy the clouds, my friends
And sniff the flowers too
Jump into the ocean
And join a hiking crew
Unless you’ve got a bum knee, like me
That hiking can get rough
Maybe that’s why I’m getting more into cloud watching and flower sniffing
As opposed to the hiking stuff
