Down dusty cul de sacs
Backyard dad barbeques
Firing up the snacks
It’s 4th of July
Our country’s birth
Time to celebrate
Got my flag flying high
Waving in the heat
I look around our country today
Plenty things to fear
Democracy looks in tattered rags
Please pass another beer
This country has seen tumultuous times
And this is one of them
The last president still says he won
Numerous fools and/or traitors agree with him
I’m embarrassed for our nation
Politics gone surreal
Patriot Front marched in Philadelphia yesterday
White supremacists trying to “stop the steal”
I guess holiday weekends give time for wackos to unite
Mass shootings and militia antics
Across the country in plain sight
12 black assholes from Rhode Island
Headed up to Maine to train
Claimed their own country, had lots of guns
Rise of the Moors is their name
What is it with these people
Sovereign citizens without clues
Want all the benefits they can muster
From the country they abuse
In the constitution it says
A well-regulated militia
Is necessary for the security of a free state
But most of these gun-toting assholes
Just spew racism and hate
Let’s get it together people
We’re all on the same team
We can argue on many issues
But must share a common American dream
Improving our democracy is a continuous quest
Remember folks, it’s a process
At the core is individual rights
Life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness
Keep moving the ball forward
And fly the flag and stand in pride
Unite in common cause
Don’t let a grievance consume a good
And put a path on pause
Let’s breathe today, let’s take time out
With holiday flags unfurled
We the people still strive for freedom
And our journey lights the world
I’m with you, please be with me
As we journey down this path
Everybody’s freedom and justice is important
