Chugging down life’s clacking tracks
Sipping a cool drink
Inbound to Grand Central
Got plenty time to think
Of things to come
And things to do
My life is now so free
A world of choice upon my plate
So much I want to see
Then COVID came a callin’
Now life is in deep freeze
Am I COVID man or mouse
Not sure, but pass the cheese
The train has stopped
We’re standing still
At least in some big ways
Social distance socializing
Now the latest craze
Shaking hands I can live without
Don’t want to catch the bug
But someday soon, it’s payback time
I’ll be looking for some hugs
Light is at the tunnel’s end
Vaccine is on the way
But still got months of muddy slog
Before we’re making hay
